…and when to say nothing at all.
So I’m torn. One the one hand I completely respect the Writer’s Guild, the Strike, and the reasons why they are striking. On the other hand, I spend roughly $35 a month for cable TV almost exclusively for the Daily Show. You can see the conflict.
For those of you who haven’t seen them, there are around 30 very short films floating around the internet created by United Hollywood in support of the strike. If you have some free time it is worth watching them all, but here are a few of the one’s I’ve noticed.
Episode 1 : Holly Hunter and script support.
Episode 12 : Damn Near Everybody!
Episode 13 : Ed Asner’s amazing facial expressions.
Episode 18 : Alan Cummings and Mr. Movie Phone.
Episode 20 : Woody Allen and his tea.
Episode 30 : Zach Braff and a special lady.
Damn the Man! Save the Entertainment Industry!
*Update*
It would seem that I am an idiot and that “A Daily Show” (as it is being called during the duration of the strike) is now back on the air sans writers. So now I can fully support the Writer’s Guild…AND…enjoy Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert from 11 - 12pm every night.
