Coin Op Magic

I've decided that at some point, I want to build my own arcade cabinet. I found an arcade emulator for Mac, and I downloaded a few old games just to check out what the quality was. My god, I was 10 years old again. Shoving tokens in the giant machines at Chuckie Cheese. As much as I love my consoles, theres nothing like letting your legs numb as you stand for hours gripping a joy stick and slamming on a candy colored circular button.

I personally prefer the older games, the Pacman couple, Joust, Robotron, Rampage, Centipede, and lest we forget....Galaga. I can still sit for hours and play that game, it is genius in it's simplicity.

So aparently there are a number of sites online where you can find plans for your very own arcade cabinet. The most expensive parts are, as you can imagine, a cheap computer to run the games and a decent sized monitor. Also you can choose to buy a premade control setup or make one of your own, which involves sodering and other things I would have learned in shop if Shrine had a shop class.

Now this isn't something that will happen anytime soon. but at some point in my life, I plan on being able to play the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game with three of my closest friends. Dibs on Leonardo.
