A loss....

I knew that eventually, one day, I would lose someone who was close to me. It was inevitable, but you can never really be prepared for it. Yesterday my Grandfather on my father's side passed away.

My grandfather was Carmine Guarino, which is where Patrick Carmine Guarino comes from. He was a great man and he will be missed. He was living in Arizona when it happened, but he lived a good portion of his life here in Detroit. The funeral will be this week and he will be buried in Roseland cemetary.

I dont think his death has really hit me yet, and it may not until the service. I really dont have much else to write at the moment, it's just been a strange day and I felt the need to get it out.

There...are....no....wires!

The Guarino household has met the future. We finally had cable internet installed in the home, and I then proceeded to set up the wireless network that is allowing me to post this. I'm still a little amazed at the lack of physical connection to the internet, but Im sure I'll get over it soon. This also means that I can play World of Warcraft just about any time that I want. This probably isnt a good thing, as this game has the ability to eat up just about all of my time.

I've been working on more concept art type stuff lately. Ive been studying animals so that I can do creature type characters and I've started doing a few paintings from reference. Here's a tree frog.

It was done rather quickly compared to some of my other stuff but I think it came out pretty well.

Work has been going pretty well. The kids just finished finals and things are slowing down again. Tomorrow starts the second semester with all new kids and classes, so it should be interesting. Hopefully I wont be working as late as I have been now that finals and scholastics are over.

I'm going to keep it short tonight so I can get some more work done before bed. Hope everyone is doing well. And Good luck to Derrick who is starting Marine Boot Camp. Enjoy the freedom you have for him. Later
